| Description: | This presentation gives realistic guidelines on what insurance offers
patients, details for helping them understand its' limitations, and
current insurance coding. This course covers terminology for
narratives, attachment issues, code development, what constitutes
fraud and answers to difficult patient questions.

- Who develops and maintains the coding system
- Tips for hard to code services
- Tips for streamlining claims
- Typical insurance payment guidelines
- Language tools to help staff talk to patients

| Bio: | MS. CAROL TEKAVEC developed many dental
practice items, including patient education brochures,
a dental chart endorsed by the Colorado Dental
Association, and her reference book on dental
insurance, the Dental Insurance Coding Handbook.
Still practicing clinically, she is featured in all
major dental journals, has spoken at all major
dental meetings and was the monthly columnist
on insurance for Dental Economics magazine. |
