Today, as always, infection control is a product dependent discipline. Without masks, gloves, eye protection, disinfectants, antiseptics, sterilizers, etc. that actually accomplish their intended purpose, control of infectious organism spread is impossible. No one wants to be sick, even if it isn't life threatening. This program gives the facts from the only lab that actually tests claims and efficacy of all types of infection control products.

• Mistakes and misunderstandings that jeopardize control of organism spread.

RELLA P. CHRISTENSEN, RDH, PhD, is a co-founder of the CRA Foundation, a dental products testing institute, and has served as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Currently she is the team leader of TRAC Research, a non-profit institute dedicated to in-depth and long-term clinical studies of restorative materials, preventive dentistry, and dental caries.

Rella received her BS in Dental Hygiene from the University of Southern California, a PhD in physiology from Brigham Young University and an Honorary Doctorate from Utah Valley State University. For over 25 years she practiced dental hygiene and was a dental laboratory technician for 3 years. She founded the bachelor degree expanded function dental hygiene program at the University of Colorado, and served as its first director.
